Who knew there was a replica colonial village just outside of Birmingham, Alabama? It's called the American Village in Montevallo, and includes guides dressed in period costumes. They even have replicas of the Liberty Bell and Oval Office... And although we're trying to avoid chain restaurants for dinner, it's okay when it's a new discovery that's something we can't get at home. Jim 'n' Nick's BBQ is just such a place. They need to get to California before we get home!
