Enough Weather Already!
You may recall that we originally planned our trip route so that we could avoid cold weather, and especially snow. Well, within a 24-hour period we had enough extreme weather to last us the rest of the year! After Saturday night's severe thunderstorms, we had a break for our broadcast on Sunday, then actually saw the sun briefly as we headed for Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Then we heard on the radio that there was a tornado warning, and Vic spent a good portion of the drive scanning the horizon for funnel clouds. By the time we reached Asheville, it was winter again, with a few snow flurries. Since we didn't leave there till it was nearly dark, we ended up driving through a snowstorm. We even saw accumulation on the sides of the road as we headed into the mountains. Max was not a happy camper, especially after passing an accident on the dark and slippery highway. We made it to Tennessee safe and sound, and look forward to a possibly chilly day at Dollywood...
